Historically the way that Chinese immigrants have been treated by Americans is a shame and embarrassment to the United States. The earliest recorded Chinese American immigrants were three Chinese students who came to New York in 1847. One Chinese student, Young Wing graduated from Yale in 1854 becoming the first Chinese person to graduate from a United States college.
